CANDIES BE ME

The candies above were the ones  that I got when our facilitator in our group discussion asked us to get two to three candies from the plastic bag she was holding.

This activity is part of our monthly Church Workers Meeting with the District Superintendent held in Sta. Mesa United Methodist Church.

I missed this one

And also this one

Those are candies wrapped in different colors but they are not just sweets, they are also avenues to answer the facilitators questions

This was her guide questions

This is our group

The group discussion started with this candy

The question was: Ano ang pakiramdam mo ngayon sa iyong dati o bagong destino (church appointment)?

One pastor who got the orange candy answered that he is happy.  To which our facilitator quickly remarked, "plastic." Hahahahahaha!

I agree.  Ministry are not like candies.  They are not always sweet.

My answer was there are things that are happy and there are things that are sad in the church.  For me, it was never absolutely happy.

The next candy is the "cool" candy wrapped in blue.

The question was: Who strikes you the most in your ministry?  Why?

The ones who got the said candy shared about the one who inspired them to enter the ministy.

For me, the word "strikes" is better meant as the one who pulls you down in the ministry. And there are many who strike like lightning in the church.  Hahahahahahahaha!

I had no answer to that question because I didn't get the said candy.  Mabuti na lang.  Hahahahahahahahaha!

The Maxx green candy asked us: If you were not given a chance to become a servant of God, what other options you have in mind? Why?

I told them if I am not a pastor, I am a writer, a teacher and most of all, isa akong ARTISTA.  Hahahahahahahaha!

On the one hand, being a pastor makes me  write, teach and act also.  The Best Actor in Me.  Hahahahahahaha!

And another quick remark from our facilitator.  Mabuti na lang nag pastor ka.  Hindi ko alam kung ang ibig ba niyang sabihin ay magaling akong pastor o pangit akong artista.  Hahahahahahahaha!

The brown candy followed with this question, What are your plans for this conference year, 2012-2013 in your appointment and family?

The common answer was to acquire a certain property. Some said to see that their children finished schooling.

O di ba walang makalangit na concerns? Most of the workers concerns are the common concerns also of the congregation.

It's not my concern because it's not my candy. Hehehehehehe!

"Who are you as the servant of God," asked the yellow and the last candy.

MAY MAXX, MAY COOL, MAY DYNAMITE AT MAY CHAMP!
